Tango y Té

Gainesville's Weekly Milonga

The "Tango y Té" Vision

The "Tango y Té" vision is to have a place where a person who has not danced before walks in and gets inspired with the idea: "hey, I feel like dancing." It will be a place where, as an adult, you can discover that you are not too old to "dance as you are."

We will be there to welcome you when you find something authentic of yourself in tango, We will provide the setting for this "something" like a parent who posts a drawing of a child on the refrigerator door.

So, we will do our best to promote a good foundation and musicality in our teaching. It is my belief that with good teaching, learning these things does not have to take as much time as it took for myself to learn them... It is never too early to focus on things like grounding and rhythm in simple sequences.

It is especially important for us *men* to realize the importance of doing something simple with a musical feeling, as opposed to trying something complicated to "impress." This is why I'm looking forward to the "men only" practicum, starting soon.
