Notes: TyT FILM SALON at Ruth Kaplan's home
The film to be shown Monday, July 17 at 7 pm
is the highly regarded documentary, "Tango, Our
Dance," from Argentina. Director Jorge Zanada spent
years researching the tango's place in Argentine culture.
The fascinating role of the milongueros, who preserve the pure,
traditional steps is explored with intensity as well as reference to
their individual styles.
Juan Carlos Copes, star of Broadway's Tango
Argentino and other tango afficionados make special appearances.
This film is a passionate valentine to what Martha Graham called
the most "beautiful dance of this century."
After the film there will be discussion and a
light supper.
There is no charge but reservations
are necessary.
