-Sunday's Milonga

This Sunday we had 2 new ("off the street") beginners, very focussed gentlemen both--at this rate it looks like we will become Southeast brainiest milonga (and because of that, the most elegant one of course)!

We want to thank Mary for letting us share in her birthday celebration, thank you specifically for the spirited birthday dance and delicious Jenny's cake!

The Sunday Milonga will be on as scheduled:
7:45pm-8:45pm: lesson for intermediate dancers w/ Jan and for beginners w/ Chut and David
8:45pm-11:30pm: general dancing.
Location: Unified Training Center, at the corner of sw 8th street and University
Admission fee: usd 10.00 paid at the door--refreshment and sweets included

Those who don't  wish to take the  lessons can come anytime, there is plenty of room to dance without interfering w/ the lessons.

-Jan's private lesson docket bulging!

This Wednesday Jan's schedule included 10 students for private lessons, one of them from Jacksonville!  We at Tango y Té consider ourselves very lucky to have him here, providing us with a solid basis to build our future tango culture upon!   (Jan's other weekly day of private lessons, Saturday, is also booked near capacity.  Contact Thuy for information: thuy_carroll@yahoo.com .)

-Cooking Demo

Satuday's Cooking Demo # 1 was great fun.  What a nice way to appreciate food and company.  Next Demo is scheduled for Saturday  5/13.  Yuwen will show us how to prepare  the "pot sticker" and Thuy is making spring rolls  (cha gio).

-Blog: Henk unstoppable in week 2! ("MOTS Learns Tango")

The first video is up! (http://tyt-mots.blogspot.com/) Follow Henk's progress as this "Man Off the Street" becomes a tanguero.  You can read Henk's comments, as well as Jan's criticism, and leave your own comments as well!  Currently, the blog is showing the progress with a week lag time, imposed by the video uploading procedure.  (By the way: Henk's "street" is in Amsterdam, where he is a practicing architect.  He is staying in Gainesville for one month.)
