-Article to Appear about TyT in Gainesville
Sun!
An article is being prepared for publication as we speak. Keep your
eye on the G'ville Sun "Daybreak" section (exact date still unknown.)!
-Celebrities to Visit
TyT
One local celebrity has promised a surprise visit sometime soon, so be
patient... However, this week we are expecting one foreigner, one
out-of-state tango professional, and one mysterious local individual tango
conscience. Come this Sunday and we will introduce you to them.
-JennyCakes present at TyT
For those who missed it, I want to mention that at
our last milonga Jenny Wagner (
www.jennycakes.com
) was present in spirit, with an assorted cakes platter
as a gesture of support for our Tango y Té. In this way, she will be
a continuing presence at TyT. The tea served is now made on the spot
in ceramic teapots, wchich are kept supplied with boiling water on a
standby.
-Web Gallery Project
Look for the website photo gallery to take shape over the coming
weeks. Irene is arranging the gallery at the moment. She will be
taking more pictures this week. If you have any photos to share, please
contact us and we'll put you in touch with her.
-Webmaster Needed
We can use some help with our web publication! Several beautiful and
innovative (multi media) projects are in the works, the reach of which will be
beyond Gainesville, and beyond tango as a dance only.. For you budding web
publishers, this could be the project to make your name!!! Contact us and
we will let you in on the projects that are already on the drawing board.
-Workshop Planned with
Instructor from California
This June we will have our fist visit from a bright and highly accomplished
dancer from California. Our expectations for her are so high that
Thuy, Chut, and I are prepared to pay for her visit ourselves, if
necessary! But in actuality, I'm afraid that we have already so much as
committed to share her instruction schedule with other local tango
students... Look for precise information to follow soon.
-a Look
Ahead
A look at various items ahead: first, the cooking demo: Yuwen, Felicie and
Ricardo are gracious enough to do a cooking demo on
Saturday 4/29 (Ricardo: yoguart cake and spicy shrimps; Felicie:
special bread). On Saturday 5/13, Yuwen will show us how to prepare
the "pot sticker" &yummy sesame sauce and either
Thuy/I will do a Vietnamese dish. We will ask the participant to make a
small donations to cover the cost of the ingredients.
Precise details of time and location to follow.
Lastly, we want to thank all of you for your continued support.
We want you to feel that you are part of tango history. We have several
very exciting projects in the works that we can not reveal yet. But you
may ask us every so often. Before the end of the year I trust they
will all have be revealed.
Happy dances!
